Our Nursery
Carlton Day Nursery is separated into three age-specific rooms. Our group sizes are limited to no more than 12 in each room, benefiting both the children and the staff by enabling them to receive a higher quality of care and supervision. We accept children from 3 months to 5 years. These are split into the following age brackets:
- Little Ducklings: 3 months - 18 months (approx.) with a ratio of 1:3
- Cubs: 18 months- 2 years with a ratio of 1:3
- Lions: 2years - 3 years with a ratio of 1:4
(the Cubs and Lions children are combined in one big room)
- Toucans Pre School: 3 years - 5 years with a ratio of 1:6
We operate with a high ratio of qualified staff. Many of our staff have either gained a qualification or are being supported in working towards one. We pride ourselves on a high standard of cleanliness throughout our nursery, with the input of daily professional cleaners and on-site maintenance. We also offer the following facilities to all parents, many of which are unique to our setting:
- A 13 camera CCTV system both inside and out
- An enchanted garden with "Hobbit Hole"!
- A biometric fingerprint recognition system at the entrance
- Sensory equipment for all age groups
- ICT area for our Pre School children
- Monitored sleeping area in Baby room
- An on-site cook who makes and prepares all meals
- An outside, undercover classroom for outdoor play in all weathers
